Sending them home and ask them to work from home is one thing. But for some of them, their actual home situation is not the best or even safest place to work. So please check up on them (daily, see point 3). For some it might be better to work from the usual office, as long as it is safe. The family situation might make it really difficult to follow normal business hours for example. So be flexible and make sure people know you care about them. Because Leadership is not a title, it is a result of your actions. People want to know that you value them.
For some customers, the impact of the virus might be even more challenging. As a leader you might be very much focused on your team and your problems, with the risk you ignore your clients. Just asking them if there is anything you and your Company can do, might make a big difference.
A lot of leaders rely on being present in order to have a grip on the actual situation of the Company. With some of your staff working from home, others from the office, some might be sick or have to care for their family, this becomes tricky. Organise a daily huddle at a time convenient for all.
